SMS Messaging & Mobile Data

This section describes how we handle phone numbers and SMS messaging consent in compliance with US A2P 10DLC regulations.

When you provide your mobile phone number through our website forms and explicitly consent to SMS messaging via the consent checkbox, the following applies:

1. Collection of mobile data

We collect: your mobile phone number, the timestamp of your consent, your IP address at the time of consent, and your browser User-Agent at the time of consent. This data is collected solely to verify your opt-in and to operate our SMS messaging program.

2. Use of mobile data

Your mobile phone number and consent record are used only to:

• Send you SMS notifications about your LocalRadar audit reports
• Send audit reminders and product updates if you opted in to these
• Process opt-out requests when you reply STOP
• Maintain compliance records as required by US carriers and the CTIA

3. Mobile information sharing (IMPORTANT)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer your mobile phone number or SMS consent to any third party for their independent use.

The only exceptions to this are:

• Twilio, Inc., our SMS messaging vendor, who delivers messages on our behalf and is contractually bound by their own privacy policy
• Legal compliance: if required by law, subpoena, or court order

We will never share your mobile data with lead generators, data brokers, or advertising networks.

5. Opt-out and data deletion

You can opt out of LocalRadar SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon opt-out:

• We immediately cease sending you SMS messages
• We retain your consent record and opt-out timestamp for compliance audit purposes
• You may request deletion of your mobile phone number from our system by emailing support@getlocalradar.com

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address, business name, business location, business category
• SMS Opt-In Information: Mobile phone number, consent timestamp, IP address at time of consent, browser user-agent
• Audit Inputs: Business website URL, Google Business Profile URL, competitor information you provide

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited)
• Cookies and similar technologies for authentication and analytics

1.3 Information from Public Sources

We collect business contact information (business name, address, phone, public-facing email) from publicly available sources including Google Business Profile listings, public business directories, and your business's own website.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver AI search visibility audits and related reports
• To send SMS messages if you have opted in (see "SMS Communications" below)
• To send email communications about your audit and account
• To improve the Service
• To comply with legal obligations

3. SMS Communications

Important: We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

If you opt in to receive SMS messages, we use your phone number solely to:

• Send you the AI search visibility audit you requested
• Notify you when reports are ready
• Send limited follow-up communications related to your audit (up to 4 messages per recipient)
• Honor opt-out requests (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, etc.)

SMS messages are delivered via Twilio Inc. as our SMS service provider. Twilio processes your phone number solely to transmit messages on our behalf and does not use it for its own marketing purposes. Carrier message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any LocalRadar SMS message. Opt-outs are honored immediately and permanently. After opt-out, your phone number is retained only on our suppression list to prevent future messaging.

4. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Twilio for SMS delivery, Resend for email delivery, Vercel for application hosting). These providers process data only on our instructions and are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or regulatory request.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case the acquirer would be bound by this Privacy Policy.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and audit data while your account is active. SMS opt-in records (including consent timestamp, IP, and user-agent) are retained for at least 4 years to comply with TCPA and CTIA recordkeeping requirements. Suppression list records (phone numbers that have opted out) are retained permanently.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted database storage, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data with reasonable care.

8. International Data Transfers

LocalRadar is operated by a Swedish company. If you are accessing the Service from outside the European Economic Area, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Children's Privacy

LocalRadar is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
